Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Pontiac Montana, 2003 Oldsmobile Silhouette, and 2003 Chevrolet Venture. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Apply prelube GM P/N 1052365 or the equivalent to the oil pump drive gear.
  2. Apply engine oil to the oil pump drive gear assembly for ease of assembly.
  3. Install the oil pump drive gear assembly.
  4. Install the oil pump drive gear clamp.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  5. Install the oil pump drive gear clamp bolt.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the bolt to 36 N.m (27 lb ft).

  6. Connect the fuel feed and return pipe to the fuel injector rail. Refer to ENGINE CONTROLS - REMOVAL & INSTALLATION & OVERHAUL  in Removal and Installation in Engine Performance.
  7. Install the upper intake manifold. Refer to INTAKE MANIFOLD REPLACEMENT - UPPER   .
