Removal Procedure

Drain the engine coolant from the cooling system. Refer to DRAINING AND FILLING COOLING SYSTEM in Engine Cooling.
Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to JACKING AND LIFTING in General Information.
Disconnect the knock sensor electrical connector.
Remove the oil filter. Refer to ENGINE OIL AND OIL FILTER REPLACEMENT .

Disconnect the oil cooler outlet hose from the oil cooler.

Remove the oil cooler connector.

Remove the oil cooler inlet hose clamp and the oil cooler.

Remove the oil cooler inlet hose clamp and oil cooler inlet hose from the oil cooler hose fitting.

If necessary, remove the oil cooler hose fitting.
