Installation Procedure

  1. Apply sealer GM P/N 12345739 or the equivalent to the keyway of the crankshaft balancer.
  2. Place the crankshaft balancer into position over the key in the crankshaft.
  3. Install the J 29113  onto crankshaft.
  4. Pull the crankshaft balancer into position.
  5. Remove the J 29113  from the crankshaft balancer.

    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  6. Install the crankshaft balancer washer and bolt.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the crankshaft balancer bolt to 103 N.m (76 lb ft).

  7. Use the utility stand in order to raise the frame/powertrain.
  8. Install NEW frame right side bolts.
  9. Install the right engine splash shield. Refer to SPLASH SHIELD REPLACEMENT - ENGINE  in Body Front End.
  10. Install the right front tire and wheel. Refer to TIRE AND WHEEL REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION in Tires and Wheels.
  11. Lower the vehicle.
  12. Install the drive belt. Refer to DRIVE BELT REPLACEMENT   .
