Slips In Drive

The following are possible causes and corrections for this condition:

• The forward clutch plates are worn causing slow clutch apply - replace forward clutch plates.
• The forward clutch piston assembly is cut or rolled - replace forward clutch piston assembly.
• The transmission fluid pump assembly is internally damaged causing low or no pressure at the discharge port - replace fluid pump assembly.
• The fluid filter assembly is clogged, loose or not sealing properly - replace fluid filter assembly.
• The shaft splines on the variable drive pulley assembly are worn or damaged - replace variable drive pulley assembly.
• The elements on the variable drive belt assembly are worn - replace variable drive belt assembly.
• The bolts securing the transmission fluid pump assembly to the case are loose or stripped - tighten/replace bolts.
• The line "1" pressure regulator valve is worn, sticking or binding - replace line "1" pressure regulator valve.
• The line "1" pressure regulator valve spring is worn, sticking or damaged - replace line "1" pressure regulator valve spring.
• The bore plug seal for the line "1" pressure regulator valve is missing or cut - replace bore plug seal.
• The line "2" pressure regulator valve is worn, sticking or binding - replace line "2" pressure regulator valve.
• The line "2" pressure regulator valve spring is worn, sticking or damaged - replace line "2" pressure regulator valve.
• The bore plug seal for the line "2" pressure regulator valve is missing or cut - replace bore plug seal.
• The control valve body is porous, damaged or contaminated with debris - replace or flush control valve body.
