Circuit Description
The TCC PC solenoid controls the flow of the TCC apply oil to the torque converter. When the TCC PC solenoid is commanded on, it exhausts release oil and allows regulated apply oil to flow to the apply circuit causing the pressure to increase, forcing the pressure plate to engage the converter housing. This causes the turbine shaft to turn at or near the speed of the engine. When the TCC PC solenoid is off, the transaxle and engine turn at different speeds depending on the amount of fluid coupling. A fail counter will be incremented when excessive slip is occurring and the TCC PC solenoid is commanded on. Excessive slip is defined as any slip greater than a calibrated value for more than a calibrated amount of time. When the fail counter reaches a calibrated value, DTC P0741 sets.
