Conditions For Setting DTC

DTC will set if the input speed drops 1000 RPM or greater and it remains for over 0.8 seconds when:

Ignition voltage is 8-18 volts.
Engine speed is greater than 500 RPM for at least 5 seconds.
PNP switch is equal to Drive.
DTC P0705, P0717, P0722, P0723, P1756, and P1758 have not set.
Accelerator pedal position angle is at least 15 percent.
Transaxle output speed is 1350 RPM or greater.
Transaxle input speed has been 1000 RPM or greater for more than 5 seconds.
Transaxle input speed does not increase by more than 200 RPM for 3 seconds.

DTC P0716 diagnostic runs continuously when the above conditions have been met. DTC P0716 is a type "A" DTC.
