Removal Procedure

CAUTION: Refer to SIR CAUTION in Cautions and Notices.
  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM  in Airbag.
  2. Remove the steering wheel from the steering column. Refer to STEERING WHEEL REPLACEMENT   . 
  3. Remove the tilt lever assembly. Refer to TILT LEVER REPLACEMENT   . 
  4. Remove the 2 pan head tapping screws (2) from the lower trim cover (1).
  5. Remove the lower trim cover (1).

  6. Remove the TORX® head screw (1) from the upper trim cover (2).

  7. Remove the upper trim cover (2).
  8. If necessary, remove the trim cover protector (1) from the lower trim cover (2).
  9. Remove the shift lever. Refer to SHIFT LEVER REPLACEMENT   .
