Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Pontiac Montana, 2003 Oldsmobile Silhouette, and 2003 Chevrolet Venture. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the shift lever seal (2) onto the shift lever assembly (4).
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  2. Install the shift lever assembly (4) and secure it with the shift lever screw (3).

    Tighten 

    Tighten the screw to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).

    Important:  The shift lever boot must be seated inside the trim covers.

  3. Slide the shift lever boot into the trim covers.
  4. Install the steering column trim covers. Refer to STEERING COLUMN TRIM COVERS REPLACEMENT
