Removal Procedure

- Recover the refrigerant. Refer to REFRIGERANT RECOVERY AND RECHARGING .
- Remove the left rear quarter trim panel.
- Drain the cooling system. Refer to DRAINING AND FILLING COOLING SYSTEM in Engine Cooling.
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to LIFTING AND JACKING THE VEHICLE in General Information.
- Remove the level ride air compressor. Refer to AIR COMPRESSOR REPLACEMENT in Automatic Level Control.
- Remove the auxiliary A/C line block fitting bolt.
- Disconnect the A/C line block fitting.
- Remove and discard the sealing washers.
Important: Cap or tape the open A/C refrigerant lines immediately to prevent system contamination.
- Cap or tape the A/C lines.
- Disconnect the auxiliary heater hoses from the heater core pipes.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Remove the air distribution duct mounting bolts.
- Remove the air distribution duct mounting retainer.
- Disconnect the air distribution duct from the HVAC module.
- Disconnect the auxiliary blower motor electrical connector.
- Disconnect the auxiliary blower motor resistor electrical connector.
- Disconnect the auxiliary temperature actuator electrical connector.
- Remove the HVAC module assembly mounting bolts and nut.
- Disconnect the left PSD module from the mounting bracket and reposition aside.
- Remove the HVAC module assembly from the vehicle.
- Remove and discard the HVAC module assembly to body seals.
