Removal Procedure

  1. Recover the refrigerant from the A/C system. Refer to REFRIGERANT RECOVERY AND RECHARGING   . 
  2. Remove the discharge hose to compressor nut.

    Important: 

    Cap or tape the open A/C hoses and A/C refrigerant component immediately to prevent system contamination.

  3. Disconnect the discharge hose from the compressor.

  4. Remove the discard the sealing washer.
  5. Cap or tape off the compressor discharge port.
  6. Cap or tape off the discharge hose.
  7. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to LIFTING AND JACKING THE VEHICLE in General Information. .
  8. Remove the air baffle bolts.
  9. Remove the air baffle.

  10. Remove the suction hose to compressor nut.
  11. Disconnect the suction hose from the compressor.

  12. Cap or tape off the compressor suction port.
  13. Remove the discard the sealing washer.
  14. Cap or tape off the suction hose.
