Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Pontiac Montana, 2003 Oldsmobile Silhouette, and 2003 Chevrolet Venture. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove the cap or tape from the suction hose.
  2. Install the sealing washer to the suction hose. Refer to SEALING WASHER REPLACEMENT   . 
  3. Remove the cap or tape from the compressor suction port.
  4. Connect the suction hose to the compressor.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  5. Install the suction hose to compressor nut.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the nut to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).

  6. Install the air baffle.
  7. Install the air baffle bolts.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the bolts to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).

  8. Lower the vehicle.
  9. Remove the cap or tape from the discharge hose.
  10. Install the sealing washer to the discharge hose. Refer to SEALING WASHER REPLACEMENT   . 
  11. Remove the cap or tape from the compressor discharge port.
  12. Connect the discharge hose to the compressor.

  13. Install the discharge hose to compressor nut.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the nut to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).

  14. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to REFRIGERANT RECOVERY AND RECHARGING   . 
  15. Leak test the fittings of the component using J 39400-A.
