Balancing Procedure
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Pontiac Montana, 2003 Oldsmobile Silhouette, and 2003 Chevrolet Venture. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
Important: The refrigerant oil in the A/C system must be balanced during compressor replacement.
- The replacement compressor is shipped with 100 ml (3.38 oz) of refrigerant oil.
- Compare the amount of refrigerant oil recorded during compressor removal to the amount of refrigerant oil shipped in the replacement compressor.
If the amount of refrigerant oil drained and recorded from the removed compressor is:
- Less than 100 ml (3.38 oz)
Leave the 100 ml (3.38 oz) in the replacement compressor.
- More than 100 ml (3.38 oz)
Add to the compressor the difference between the 100 ml (3.38 oz) and the amount drained.
- Less than 100 ml (3.38 oz)
