Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) and EGR Pipe Installation

Important: Inspect the EGR outlet pipe for leaks during installation. If cracks, deformation or any visible signs of leaking is present, replace the EGR adapter assembly.
- Install the EGR valve adapter assembly on the cylinder head.NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
- Install the EGR valve adapter assembly to cylinder head bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the EGR valve adapter assembly bolts to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).
- Install the EGR valve outlet pipe to the lower intake and the EGR valve adapter assembly.
- Install the EGR valve outlet pipe bolt and nut.
Tighten
Tighten the EGR valve outlet pipe bolt and nut to 29 N.m (21 lb ft).
- Install the EGR valve adapter inlet pipe to the RH exhaust manifold.
- Install the EGR valve adapter inlet pipe bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the EGR valve adapter inlet pipe bolt to 29 N.m (21 lb ft).
- Install the EGR valve gasket and EGR valve.
- Install the EGR valve nuts.
Tighten
Tighten the EGR valve nuts to 29 N.m (21 lb ft).
