Diagnostic Aids

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Oldsmobile Intrigue and 2002 Oldsmobile Aurora. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: Use Connector Test Adapter Kit (J-35616-A) for any test that requires probing the PCM harness connectors, electrical center fuse/relay cavities, component terminals and component harness connector. Using this kit will prevent damage caused by improper probing of connector terminals.

A malfunction in the HO2S heater ignition feed or ground circuit may cause DTC to set. Check HO2S heater circuits for intermittent malfunctions or poor connections. If connections and wiring are okay and the DTC continues to set, HO2S may be at fault. Review failure records vehicle mileage since the diagnostic test last failed to determine how often condition occurs that caused DTC to set. This may assist in diagnosing condition.
