Turn Signal and Multifunction Switch Assembly - Assemble - Off Vehicle

  1. Install the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly (2) onto the steering column tilt head assembly.
  2. Verify that the electrical contact of the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly (2) rests on the turn signal cancel cam assembly.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .
  3. Screw the 2 pan head tapping screws (1) into the turn signal and multifunction assembly (2).

    Tighten 

    Tighten the screws to 7 N.m (62 lb in).

    CAUTION: Refer to SIR CAUTION .
  4. Slide the 2 connectors (2) of the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly into the bulkhead connector (1).
  5. Reconnect the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly connector to the inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil connector.

  6. Attach the wire harness assembly (1) to the steering column with new wire harness straps.
  7. Install the wire harness assembly (1) to wire harness strap (2).
  8. Install the upper and lower trim covers. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers - Assemble - Off Vehicle .
  9. Enable the inflatable restraint steering wheel module. Refer to ACTIVATING SYSTEM .
