Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Coil - Disassemble - Off Vehicle

CAUTION: Refer to SIR CAUTION .
  1. Disable the inflatable restraint steering wheel module. Refer to DISABLING SYSTEM .
  2. Remove the upper and lower trim covers. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers - Disassemble - Off Vehicle .
  3. Remove the wire harness assembly (1) from the wire harness strap (2).
  4. Remove the wire harness straps from the steering column and the wire harness assembly (1).
  5. Disconnect the inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil connector from the turn signal switch assembly connector.

  6. Remove the retaining ring (3) from the steering shaft assembly (2) by using snap ring pliers.
  7. Remove the inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil (4) from the steering shaft assembly.
