Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System in Engine Cooling.
  2. Remove the wiper motor module assembly. Refer to Wiper Motor Module Replacement in Wipers/Washer Systems.
  3. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the brake booster and reposition.
  4. Remove the air cleaner cover and intake tube. Refer to Air Cleaner Intake Duct Replacement in Engine Controls - 3.4 L.
  5. IMPORTANT: Disconnect the throttle and cruise control cables from the TBI mounting bracket to prevent bending the cable housings.
  6. Disconnect the throttle and cruise control cables.
  7. Remove the transmission fluid filler tube. Refer to Fluid Filler Tube Replacement (LA1) or Fluid Filler Tube Replacement (LY7) in Automatic Transaxle - 4T65-E.

  9. Disconnect the inlet heater hose (1) from the inlet heater pipe (2).

  11. Disconnect the heater hose clamp using the J 38185  .
  12. Disconnect the inlet heater hose from the heater core.
  13. Remove the inlet heater hose.
