Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the right front tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  3. Remove the right engine splash shield. Refer to Splash Shield Replacement - Engine in Body Front End.
  4. Remove the right stabilizer shaft links from the right lower control arm. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement in Front Suspension.
  5. Remove the right tie rod end from the right steering knuckle. Refer to Rack and Pinion Outer Tie Rod End Replacement in Power Steering System.
  6. Remove the right lower ball joint from the lower control arm. Refer to Lower Ball Joint Replacement .
  7. Remove the right wheel drive shaft from the transaxle. Refer to Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement - Front in Wheel Drive Shafts.
  8. Reposition and secure the right wheel drive shaft to the right steering knuckle and strut.

  9. Using the J 6125-B  with the. See Special Tools and Equipment .J 6125-1B  and the J 23129  remove the wheel drive shaft oil seal (1) from the transmission.
