Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Pontiac Aztek and 2004 Buick Rendezvous. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
    IMPORTANT: Install the new bushing to the crossmember in the same mannerism as/was the old bushing noting the voids.

  1. Use the J 21474-01  in order to install the bushing to the crossmember.

  3. Install the lower control arm and mounting bolts (1, 5 ) to the crossmember. Refer to Rear Axle Lower Control Arm Replacement (All Wheel Drive)  in Rear Suspension.

  5. Line up the mark on the lower control arm at the cam indicator (1).

  7. Install the coil spring 2. Refer to Coil Spring Replacement (Front Wheel Drive with Axle)  or Coil Spring Replacement (Front Wheel Drive without Axle)  or Coil Spring Replacement (All Wheel Drive) .
  8. Install the tire and wheel assemblies. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  9. Inspect the rear camber and toe angles and adjust as necessary. Refer to Rear Camber Adjustment (AWD) and Rear Toe Adjustment in Wheel Alignment.
  10. Lower the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
