Removal (Eldorado)

  1. Remove the cable end cap from the transmission park/neutral position switch lever. Remove the cable from the bracket by prying on the lock button to the unlocked position. See Fig 1 .
  2. Remove the left closeout insulator panel. See appropriate SHIFT INTERLOCK SYSTEMS article in AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS. Remove the console center trim panel. Remove the shift control cable from the floor shift assembly. See Fig 2 . Remove the cable from the vehicle. See Fig 3 .
