Forward Servo (4T65-E): Installation

  1. Install the servo spring. Install the servo piston assembly. Install the forward servo cover O-ring. Install the forward servo cover. See Figure .
  2. Using a long screwdriver in order to pry against the vehicle frame. Hold the servo assembly compressed. See Figure . Install the 3 forward servo cover attaching bolts. Tighten the forward servo cover attaching bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  3. Remove the drain pan from under the forward servo cover. Align the rear transaxle mount and bracket then Install the mount and bracket bolts. See appropriate REMOVAL & INSTALLATION article.
  4. Remove the transaxle support stand. Install the power steering pressure hose. Install the power steering return hose. See appropriate POWER RACK & PINION article in STEERING.
  5. Install the power steering gear heat shield. See appropriate POWER RACK & PINION article in STEERING. Lower the vehicle. Fill transaxle with appropriate fluid to proper level. See LUBRICATION  .
