Accumulator & 2-1 Manual Servo (4T65-E): Removal

Raise and support the vehicle. Remove the oil filter. See DRAINING & REFILLING (4T65-E) under LUBRICATION.
Remove the accumulator bolts. See Fig 1 . Remove the manual 2-1 band servo cover bolts.
Remove the lube oil pipe from the front differential carrier internal gear lube hole. See Fig 3 . Remove the accumulator and the manual 2-1 band servo cover as a assembly. Remove the manual 2-1 band servo cover. Remove the manual 2-1 band servo. See Fig 2 .
To disassemble, inspect and service the accumulator and 2-1 manual servo, see appropriate OVERHAUL article in AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS.
