Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Pontiac Aztek and 2004 Buick Rendezvous. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove the windshield garnish molding. Refer to Garnish Molding Replacement - Windshield Pillar in Interior Trim.
  2. IMPORTANT: Remove the upper trim panel slowly, because the retainer clips could possibly fall into the instrument panel.

  3. Lift the upper trim panel approximately 51 mm (2.0 in) and pull rearward to release the upper trim panel retainers from the instrument panel (I/P).
  4. Remove the DRL ambient light sensor. Refer to Daytime Running Lamps (DRL) Ambient Light Sensor Replacement in Lighting Systems.
  5. If equipped, remove the sun load sensor.
  6. Remove the I/P upper trim panel.
