Control & Shift Solenoids (4L60-E): Removal

  1. Remove the transmission oil pan and filter. See DRAINING & REFILLING  under LUBRICATION.
  2. Remove the 1-2 accumulator if necessary. See ACCUMULATOR ASSEMBLY (4L60-E)  .
  3. Disconnect the internal wiring harness electrical connectors from the following components:
    • Transmission fluid pressure switch. See Figure .
    • 1-2 shift control solenoid.
    • 2-3 shift control solenoid.
    • Pressure control solenoid.
    • 3-2 shift control solenoid.
    • TCC PWM solenoid.
  4. Remove the pressure control solenoid retainer. Remove the pressure control solenoid. See Figure .
  5. Remove the 1-2 and 2-3 shift control solenoid retainers. Remove the 1-2 and 2-3 shift control solenoids. See Figure .
  6. Remove the 3-2 control solenoid retainer. Remove the 3-2 control solenoid. See Figure .
