Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 GMC Sonoma, 2003 GMC Jimmy, 2003 Chevrolet S10 Pickup, and 2003 Chevrolet Blazer. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the TOC lines to the vehicle.
  2. Install the TOC lines to the transmission. Refer to TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER LINE QUICK CONNECT FITTINGS 
  3. Install the transfer case vent hose, if equipped.
  4. Raise the transmission into position.
  5. Install the exhaust crossover pipe and the transmission support assembly. Refer to TRANSMISSION SUPPORT REPLACEMENT (RWD) or TRANSMISSION SUPPORT REPLACEMENT (4WD) in Frame and Underbody.
  6. Remove the transmission jack.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  7. For vehicles equipped with a 4.3L engine, install the stud and clip securing the TOC line to the engine.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the stud to 11 N.m (97 lb in).

  8. For vehicle equipped with a 2.2L engine, Install the nut securing the TOC lines to the engine.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the nut to 11 N.m (97 lb in).

  9. Lower the vehicle.
  10. Install the TOC lines to the radiator. Refer to TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER LINE QUICK CONNECT FITTINGS .
  11. Fill the transmission to the proper level with DEXRON® III transmission fluid. Refer to TRANSMISSION FLUID CHECKING PROCEDURE .
