Removal Procedure

  1. Recover the refrigerant from the A/C system. Refer to REFRIGERANT RECOVERY AND RECHARGING .
  2. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to AIR CLEANER OUTLET RESONATOR REPLACEMENT in Engine Controls - 4.3L.
  3. Disconnect the A/C high pressure switch electrical connector (2).
  4. Remove the A/C high pressure switch connector retaining ring.
  5. Remove the A/C high pressure switch from the A/C compressor.
