Crankshaft and Bearings Removal

  1. Remove the crankshaft position sensor stud.
  2. Remove the crankshaft position sensor from the side of the block.

  3. Remove the crankshaft main bearing cap bolt and studs.
  4. Remove the crankshaft main bearing caps and lower crankshaft main bearing halves.

    Important:  Use Care when handling the crankshaft.

    Avoid damage to the crankshaft position sensor reluctor wheel teeth. Nicks, burrs or other damage to the teeth may effect On-board Diagnostics - OBD II system performance.

  5. Remove the crankshaft.
  6. Remove the upper crankshaft main bearing halves.
