Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Pontiac Aztek and 2003 Buick Rendezvous. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove the air cleaner assembly.
  2. Disconnect the cruise control module electrical connector.
  3. Reposition cruise control module aside.
  4. Remove the cruise control module mounting bracket bolts.
  5. Remove the cruise control module mounting bracket.
  6. Recover the refrigerant from the A/C system. Refer to REFRIGERANT RECOVERY AND RECHARGING  .

  7. Remove the wiper motor module. Refer to WIPER MOTOR MODULE REPLACEMENT .
  8. Remove the evaporator outlet tube to TXV nut.
  9. Disconnect the evaporator outlet tube from the TXV.
  10. Disconnect the evaporator inlet tube from the evaporator outlet tube.

    Important:  Cap or tape off the open A/C components immediately to prevent system contamination.

  11. Cap or tape off the TXV.

  12. Remove the evaporator outlet tube bracket bolt.

  13. Remove the suction hose to evaporator outlet tube fitting bolt.
  14. Disconnect the evaporator outlet tube from the suction hose.
  15. Cap or tape off the suction hose.
  16. Remove the evaporator outlet tube.
  17. Remove and discard the sealing washers.
