Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Pontiac Aztek and 2003 Buick Rendezvous. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM .
  2. Remove the steering column trim covers. Refer to STEERING COLUMN TRIM COVERS REPLACEMENT  .
  3. Pull the theft deterrent control module (2) away from the lock cylinder housing (1).

  4. Depress the 2 white spring loaded retainers on the ignition switch.
  5. Slide the ignition switch downward away from the ignition lock cylinder case.
  6. Disconnect the electrical connector from the ignition switch.
