Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Oldsmobile Aurora. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. If the location of the emblem/nameplate has not been marked apply tape and use the following dimensions:
    • Dimension "A" is 70.0 mm (2.76 in) from the front edge of the hood.
    • Dimension "B" is 43.5 mm (1.71 in) from the centerline of the hood (1).

  2. Warm the surface with a heat gun J 25070  152 mm (6 in) from the surface to a minimum of 21°C (70°F).

    Important:  Do not touch the adhesive backing of the emblem/nameplate.

  3. Remove the backing from the front end of the emblem/nameplate.
  4. Press the emblem/nameplate (1) to the hood surface while continuing to remove the backing.

  6. Hand roll the emblem/nameplate to the hood to ensure proper adhesion.
  7. Inspect the emblem/nameplate for bonding.
  8. Remove the tape from the area around the emblem.
