Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Oldsmobile Aurora. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION: Use care when removing or installing the headliner. Excessive bending will damage the headliner.
  1. With the add of an assistant, load the headliner into the vehicle through the rear passenger door opening.
  2. Raise the headliner into position.

  4. Install the assist handles. Refer to Assist Handle Replacement  .
  5. Install the high mounted stop lamp. Refer to HIGH MOUNTED STOP LAMP REPLACEMENT .
  6. Install the sunshades. Refer to Sunshade Replacement  .
  7. Install the windshield pillar garnish moldings. Refer to Garnish Molding Replacement - Windshield Pillar  .
  8. Install the center pillar garnish moldings. Refer to Garnish Molding Replacement - Center Pillar  .
  9. Connect the headliner wiring harness connectors.
  10. Install the rear quarter upper trim panels. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Quarter Upper  .

    Important:  Ensure that the inside lip of the door opening weather-strip is properly seated to close out the headliner, sail panel and pillar garnish moldings.

  11. Install the door opening weatherstrips in the door openings. Refer to WEATHERSTRIP REPLACEMENT -- REAR DOOR OPENING .
  12. Install the overhead console. Refer to Console Replacement - Overhead  .
  13. Install the front passenger bucket seat. Refer to SEAT REPLACEMENT -- BUCKET .
