Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 GMC Savana Special, 2002 GMC Savana Camper Special, 2002 GMC Savana, and 2002 Chevrolet Chevy Express. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove the bucket seat from the vehicle. Refer to Seat Replacement - Bucket (All Except Luxury)  or Seat Replacement - Bucket (Luxury Y91)  .
  2. Remove the armrest from the same side of the seat as the hinge. Refer to Armrest Replacement - Front Seat (All Except Luxury)  or Armrest Replacement - Front Seat (Luxury Y91)  or Armrest Replacement - Rear Seat (All Except Luxury)  or Armrest Replacement - Rear Seat (Luxury Y91)  .
  3. Remove the J-hooks that retain the carpet on the seat back cushion and to the corners of the seat cushion cover.
  4. Remove the seat cover and pad. Refer to Seat Back Cover and Pad Replacement - Front (All Except Luxury)  or Seat Back Cover and Pad Replacement - Front (Luxury Y91)  and Seat Cushion Cover Replacement - Front (All Except Luxury)  or Seat Cushion Cover Replacement - Front (Luxury Y91)  .

    Important:  Note the position and length of all the bolts removed. This will assist with reassembly.

  5. Remove the bolts that retain the seat back hinges to the seat cushion and the seat back frame.

    Important:  Handle the seat carefully when just one side of the seat back is attached to the seat cushion. Improper handling may damage the seat back hinge or the lumbar support cable.

  6. Remove the seat back hinges from the seat frame.
