Adjustment Procedure

Aim the fog lamps for proper road illumination and for safety. Check the front fog lamp aim in the following cases:

  1. In order to ensure accurate vertical alignment of the front fog lamps, perform the following steps in order to prepare the vehicle:
    • Verify that all the components are in place on the vehicle.
    • Verify that the tires are inflated correctly.
    • Verify that mud or snow is not attached to the vehicle.
    • Stop all other work on the vehicle.
    • Make sure the fuel level is 1/2 full or more.
    • Bounce the vehicle up, and down in order to settle the suspension.
    • Place the vehicle on a level surface 7.6 m (25 ft) from the target screen.
    • Measure the distance from the floor to the center of the fog lamp (5).
    • Use this measurement in order to mark the horizontal centerline of the fog lamp (1) on the target screen directly in front of the vehicle.

  2. Turn the front fog lamps ON.
  3. Locate the adjustment screw which is on the back of the fog lamps. Use this screw in order to make the necessary adjustments.
  4. Adjust the fog lamp up or down until the top edge of the high-intensity zone is in the correct area of the screen. The correct area is 102 mm (4 in) below (2) the horizontal centerline (1).
  5. Turn OFF the front fog lamps.
