Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 GMC Savana Special, 2002 GMC Savana Camper Special, 2002 GMC Savana, and 2002 Chevrolet Chevy Express. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Connect the electrical connector to the dome lamp.
  2. Install the dome lamp assembly (6) to the vehicle.
    CAUTION: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners to avoid damage to parts and systems.
  3. Install the screws in order to retain the dome lamp to the vehicle.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the screws to 1.5 N.m (13 in lbs).

  4. Connect the bulb (5) into the socket.
  5. Install the dome lamp lens (4) to the housing (2).

    Apply pressure in order to disengage the retaining tabs on the dome lamp lens.
