Rear Left Park Brake Cable: Removal

  1. Release the park brake. Raise and support the vehicle. Loosen the park brake cable equalizer nut in order to remove the park brake left side cable from the park brake equalizer.
  2. For domestic vehicles, perform the following steps. Remove the tire and wheel. Remove the brake drum. Remove the park brake cable from the park brake actuator.
  3. Use the Park Brake Cable Release Tool (J-37043) in order to remove the park brake cable. For domestic vehicles, remove the park brake cable from the backing plate. For export vehicles, remove the park brake cable from the park brake cable bracket.
