Park Brake Shoes: Installation

  1. Assemble the park brake shoe to the actuator. See Figure . Install the park brake shoe and actuator onto the backing plate. See Figure . Position the park brake shoe, actuator, and backing plate over the rear hub. Install the park brake cable bracket and the 2 retainers. See Figure .
  2. Install the rear hub. The rear hub, backing plate, park brake cable bracket, and park brake actuator will be installed as an assembly. Install and connect the rear park brake cable to the bracket at the rear wheel. See REAR PARK BRAKE CABLE  .
  3. Connect the park brake cable return spring to the park brake actuator and bracket at the rear wheel. Install the rear rotor. See REAR BRAKE ROTOR  . Install the rear caliper bracket. See REAR BRAKE CALIPER BRACKET  . Install the rear wheels and tires. Adjust the park brake system. See PARKING BRAKE ADJUSTMENT - DISC BRAKES  under ADJUSTMENTS & INSPECTIONS.
