Park Brake Pedal Assembly: Removal

- Remove the left-side instrument panel insulator.
- Remove the push-in retainers from the I/P insulator to instrument panel.
- Remove the press-on retainers from the I/P insulator to dash mat.
- Unsnap the I/P courtesy lamp from the I/P insulator.
- Remove the I/P insulator from the instrument panel.
- Remove the left-side carpet retainer. Use the Door Trim Pad Clip Remover (J-38778) in order to remove the door-opening carpet retainers from the carpet retainer. Fold the carpet back in order to gain access. Remove the park brake indicator switch electrical connector. See Fig 1 . Raise and support the vehicle.
- Loosen the park brake equalizer nut. Lower the vehicle. Remove the park brake lever nuts. See Fig 2 . Remove the park brake lever with the park brake cable. Remove the park brake cable end from the park brake lever clevis. Use the Park Brake Cable Release Tool (J-37043) in order to remove the cable from the lever.
