Front Park Brake Cable: Removal

  1. Remove the left-side instrument panel insulator. Remove the push-in retainers from the I/P insulator to instrument panel. Remove the press-on retainers from the I/P insulator to dash mat. Unsnap the I/P courtesy lamp from the I/P insulator. Remove the I/P insulator from the instrument panel. Remove the left-side carpet retainer. Use Door Trim Pad Clip Remover (J-38778) in order to remove the door-opening carpet retainers from the carpet retainer. Fold back the carpet for access. Raise and support the vehicle.
  2. Loosen the park brake cable equalizer nut in order to remove the park brake left side cable from the park brake equalizer. Remove the park brake cable end from the park brake cable connector. Remove the park brake cable from the park brake cable equalizer.
  3. Remove the park brake cable from the park brake cable guides. Remove the park brake cable nuts from the underbody studs. Remove the park brake cable clips from the park brake cable. Lower the vehicle. Remove the park brake cable end from the park brake lever clevis. Use the Park Brake Cable Release Tool (J-37043) in order to remove the cable from the lever. Remove the front park brake cable from the vehicle.
