Front Brake Hose: Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Pontiac Montana, 2002 Oldsmobile Silhouette, and 2002 Chevrolet Venture. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove the rubber plug from the brake hose bolt hole of the brake caliper. Install NEW copper brake hose gaskets. Assemble the brake hose bolt and the NEW copper brake hose gaskets to the brake hose.
  2. NOTE: Make sure the brake hose is not twisted or kinked after installation. Damage to the hose could result.
  3. Install the brake hose bolt to the brake caliper. Tighten the bolt to specifications. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  . Install the brake hose to the brake hose bracket. Install the brake hose retainer to the brake hose. Remove the rubber cap or plug from the exposed brake pipe fitting end. Install the brake pipe fitting to the brake hose. Tighten the fitting to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  4. CAUTION: Do not move the vehicle until a firm brake pedal is obtained. Air in the brake system can cause the loss of brakes with possible personal injury.
  5. Bleed the brake caliper at the brake caliper bleeder screw. Install tire and wheel assembly. Tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  . Lower the vehicle.
