Rear Axle Upper Control Arm Replacement AWD: Installation

  1. Install the upper control arm.

  2. NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .
  3. Install the bolts and the nuts which secure the upper control arm to the crossmember. Tighten the nuts to 85 N.m (63 lb ft).
  4. Use 2 utility stands in order to raise the crossmember.
  5. Install the crossmember-to-underbody bolts.
  6. Install the upper control arm to the knuckle. Tighten the nut which secures the upper control arm to 85 N.m (63 lb ft).
  7. Connect the shock absorber to the lower control arm. Refer to SHOCK ABSORBER REPLACEMENT ALL WHEEL DRIVE .
  8. Connect the height sensor link to the lower control arm as necessary.
  9. Connect the park brake cable to the park brake actuator and the park brake cable bracket.
  10. Install the brake caliper. Refer to REAR BRAKE CALIPER .
  11. Install the rear wheel.
  12. Lower the vehicle.
