Coil Spring Replacement Front Wheel Drive Without Axle: Removal

- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to LIFTING AND JACKING THE VEHICLE .
- Remove the wheel and tire assemblies. Refer to TIRE AND WHEEL REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION in TIRES AND WHEELS .
- Remove the brake calipers. Refer to REAR BRAKE CALIPER .
- Remove the parking brake cable mounting bracket.
- Remove the brake caliper mounting bracket.
- Disconnect the ABS electrical connector.
- Remove the ABS electrical connector mounting bracket.
- Use the utility jack in order to support the lower control arm.
- Remove the stabilizer link from the lower control arm.
- Use the J-41820 in order to disconnect the ball joint from the knuckle. Refer to Figure.
- Use the utility jack in order to lower the lower control arm and relieve the coil spring tension.
- Remove the coil spring (2). Refer to Figure.
