Park Brake Will Not Hold Or Release

- Were you sent here from SYMPTOMS - PARK BRAKES? If so, go to next step. If not, go to DIAGNOSTIC STARTING POINT - PARK BRAKE under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
- Inspect the park brake system for proper operation. See PARK BRAKE SYSTEM under SYSTEM TESTS. Did you find and correct a condition? If so, go to step 6 . If not, go to next step.
- Inspect the drum brake system, if equipped, for proper operation. See DRUM BRAKE SYSTEM under SYSTEM TESTS. Did you find and correct a condition? If so, go to step 6 . If not, go to next step.
- Inspect the disc brake system for proper operation. See DISC BRAKE SYSTEM under SYSTEM TESTS. Did you find and correct a condition? If so, go to step 6 . If not, go to next step.
- Inspect the hydraulic brake system for proper operation. See HYDRAULIC BRAKE SYSTEM under SYSTEM TESTS. Did you find and correct a condition? If so, go to next step. If not, go to DIAGNOSTIC STARTING POINT - HYDRAULIC BRAKES under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
- Road test the vehicle in order to confirm proper operation. See ROAD TEST under TROUBLE SHOOTING. Is the condition still present? If so, go to step 2 . If not, system is okay.
