Removal (Rear Cable)

NOTE:
Special Tool Required: Parking Brake Cable Release Tool (J-37043).
- Raise and support the vehicle.
- Relieve the park brake cable tension at the equalizer.
- Disconnect the front cable from the rear cable that is to be replaced.
- For the right rear cable, disconnect the cable from the clip. See Fig 1 .
- For the left rear cable, fully remove the equalizer nut from the equalizer stud, which is part of the left rear cable.
- Disconnect the retainer that holds the cable to the support bracket. Use the Park Brake Cable Release Tool to release the retainer.
- Disconnect the park brake cable from the actuator lever.
- Remove cable retaining pin from the support bracket and remove the park brake cable.
