Diagnostic Procedure

- If engine electrical diagnostic system check was performed, go to next step. If engine electrical diagnostic system check was not performed, go to ENGINE ELECTRICAL DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK under ON-VEHICLE TESTING.
- Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). See COMPONENT LOCATIONS . Start engine and allow voltage to stabilize. Using scan tool, observe VOLTS parameter from Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) data list. If VOLTS parameter is 10.5-16.2 volts, go to next step. If VOLTS parameter is not 10.5-16.2 volts, go to TEST A: CHARGING SYSTEM TEST under SYSTEM TESTS.
- Replace IPC. See appropriate INSTRUMENT PANELS article in ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT. After repairs are made, go to next step.
- Using scan tool, clear DTCs. Start engine. If DTC B1513 or DTC B1514 does not reset, system is okay. If DTC B1513 or DTC B1514 resets, go to step 2 .
