Differential Assembly: Disassembly

NOTE:
Complete disassembly procedures are not available from manufacturer. Information provided is a simple strip-down procedure. DO NOT disassemble the side cover or differential assembly. Oil seal damage or the entry of foreign material into the hydraulic system may effect system operation.
- Remove the lubricant drain plug and gasket from the differential. Allow the lubricant to drain. Remove vent hose assembly and clamp. See Figure . Remove clutch pump check valve. See DIFFERENTIAL CLUTCH PUMP CHECK VALVE . Remove "O" rings from check valve, if required. The O-ring seals may be reused if not cut or damaged. See Figure .
- Remove torque tube bracket nut, bolt and spacers. See Figure . Remove torque tube bracket. Remove torque tube-to-differential bolts. Separate torque tube from differential. Remove bolts from differential.
- Remove pinion housing and shim. Remove oil seal and "O" ring from pinion housing. Remove left and right axle shaft oil seals.
NOTE:
Do not remove the dampeners from the torque tube. Removal and reinstallation may effect component noise and/or vibration levels.
