Park Brake Will Not Hold Or Release

  1. Were you sent here from PARK BRAKE SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC STARTING POINT? If so, go to next step. If not, go to PARK BRAKE SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC STARTING POINT  under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
  2. Inspect the park brake system for proper operation. See PARK BRAKE SYSTEM TEST  under SYSTEM TESTS. Did you find and correct a condition? If so, go to step  5. If not, go to next step.
  3. Inspect the disc brake system for proper operation. See DISC BRAKE SYSTEM TEST  under SYSTEM TESTS. Did you find and correct a condition? If so, go to step  5. If not, go to next step.
  4. Inspect the hydraulic brake system for proper operation. See HYDRAULIC BRAKE SYSTEM TEST  under SYSTEM TESTS. Did you find and correct a condition? If so, go to next step. If not, go to PARK BRAKE SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC STARTING POINT  under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
  5. Road test the vehicle in order to confirm proper operation. See ROAD TEST  under TROUBLE SHOOTING. If condition still exists, go to step  2.
