Removal (LX5)

  1. Remove the cruise control cable. Remove the air cleaner assembly.
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the cruise control on the left strut tower and position out of the way.
  3. Remove the brake master cylinder from the vacuum brake booster and carefully position the master cylinder out of the way. Do not disconnect the hydraulic brake pipes from the master cylinder. Disconnect the vacuum brake booster vacuum check valve and hose as an assembly from the vacuum brake booster.
  4. Remove the secondary AIR injection crossover pipe. Remove the left knee bolster.
  5. Remove the retaining clip from the brake pedal clevis pin. Remove the foam spacer from the brake pedal clevis pin. Remove the vacuum brake booster pushrod from the brake pedal clevis pin. Remove the vacuum brake booster mounting nuts.
  6. Remove the vacuum booster from the vehicle. Remove the vacuum brake booster mounting gasket, if gasket replacement is necessary.
