Park Brake Pedal Assembly: Installation

  1. Install the park brake cable to the park brake lever. See Fig 1 . Install the park brake cable end to the park brake lever clevis. Install the park brake lever with the cable. See Figure . Install the park brake lever nuts. Tighten the nuts to specifications. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  2. Install the park brake indicator switch electrical connector. See Figure . Fold the carpet back in place. Install the left-side carpet retainer. Push the door-opening carpet retainers to the retainer support.
  3. Install the left-side instrument panel insulator.
    1. Snap the I/P courtesy lamp into the I/P insulator.
    2. Position the I/P insulator to the instrument panel.
    3. Install the push-in retainers to the I/P insulator to instrument panel.
    4. Install the press-on retainers to the I/P insulator to dash mat.
  4. Adjust the park brake cable. See DISC PARKING BRAKE ADJUSTMENT  or DRUM PARK BRAKE ADJUSTMENT  under ADJUSTMENTS & INSPECTIONS.
