Drum Brake Backing Plate: Removal

- Raise and support the vehicle. Remove the tire and wheel. Remove the brake drum. See BRAKE DRUM . Remove the brake shoes. See BRAKE SHOES . Remove the universal spring.
- Remove the wheel cylinder. See WHEEL CYLINDER . Disconnect the parking brake cable from the backing plate. Remove the rear wheel hub. Remove the backing plate.
