Front Brake Caliper: Reassembly

  1. Install the bleeder valve and the bleeder valve cap to the caliper housing. See Figure . Lubricate the NEW piston seal with Delco Supreme 11(R) GM P/N 12377967 or equivalent DOT-3 brake fluid from a clean, sealed brake fluid container. Install a NEW lubricated piston seal to the caliper bore grooves. Ensure that the piston seal is not twisted.
  2. Install the lubricated boot onto the brake caliper piston. Lubricate the brake caliper piston with clean brake fluid. Install the brake caliper piston and the brake caliper piston boot into the bore of the caliper. Push the brake caliper piston to the bottom of the bore.
  3. Seat the caliper boot in the caliper housing counterbore using the Dust Boot Seal Installer (J-35777). Install the caliper. See FRONT BRAKE CALIPER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
